What are the benefits of ITB?
Monika Mersmann and Rulf J. Treidel have gathered great ideas for special tourist experiences during this year’s International Tourism Exchange from 4 to 6 March 2025 in Berlin. In addition to discussions with competent providers from Portugal, Albania and Italy, Spain is an important focus for the visit. With its campaign ‘Enjoy Spain with all your senses’, the country is meeting the needs of many travellers who are looking for more than just sun and beach. Rulf J. Treidel had the opportunity to present Castilla y León as part of this campaign. This historically rich and culturally diverse region offers experiences for all the senses. Starting with the many traditions, the impressive architecture and the unique natural environment, travellers can also expect to enjoy the delights of the region’s cuisine and viticulture. Castile and León is much more than just a geographical region – it offers an experience that activates all the senses and thus leaves a lasting impression on visitors. In August 2026, a total solar eclipse will also take place here: another reason to make your way to Castile and León.
Mersmann and Rulf Treidel also used the three days at the ITB to expand the Deep Travel tourism network. Numerous new contacts with exciting tourism companies led to a fruitful exchange that will help to develop unique tourism experiences. Above all, these collaborations are intended to enable travel sellers to offer innovative and authentic products that stand out from standard travel.
The newly acquired partnerships cover a range of different areas of tourism – from cultural tours and nature experiences to culinary specialities. These collaborations make it possible to offer adventure tours that give travellers an intense and authentic picture of the respective destination. The focus here is on tailor-made concepts that emphasise the uniqueness of the regions and offer travellers a complete experience.
The campaign ‘Enjoy Spain with all your senses’ shows how important it is to rethink tourism and create experiences that go far beyond mere sightseeing. By combining culture, cuisine and nature, European tourism is enriched with valuable, innovative offers. For travel sellers, this opens up a wide range of opportunities to offer their customers unique and memorable experiences – a clear competitive advantage in an increasingly demanding market.
In short, a successful ITB with many perspectives for new and inspiring travel offers.
